Tips for Fairgoers

Buy your fair tickets and ride wristbands early and save money! With the wristbands, you can come early and ride until 10:30 p.m. Remember the "hill" or the agricultural and creative arts exhibits; as well as the Greenway Energy Expo. These will be open daily at 10 a.m. The midway will open weekdays at 5 p.m. and weekends at 10 a.m.

Bring sunscreen and drink plenty of fluids, as we still have some hot days in September.  Make sure children wash their hands any time they come in contact with any animals. Bring your strollers because we do not have stroller rentals on site.  Kids, follow the new mascot footprints to kid-friendly attractions all over the property and take your parents on an adventure that you can design!

Just don’t be a spectator. Be a competitor. There are hundreds of competitions you can enter in the fair. Check out our entries online and be apart of the YOUR STATE FAIR.

School Field Trip Day is on Tuesday the 15th and Senior Day is on Thursday, September 17. See the calendar of events for other special times and dates when planning your family fun!

The 2009 Tennessee State Fair has FREE PARKING. The MAIN GATE ENTRANCE (and the only gate open during the day) is Gate 1 off Bransford Avenue.  Please use the google map to get the best route from your home to ours.
