Frequently Asked Questions

May I bring my dog to the fair?
For the safety of all fairgoers, no pets of any kind are allowed on the midway, with the exception of service animals. On a limited basis, pets of participants are allowed in the Agricultural Area (the Extreme Canine Stunt Dog Show, for example). For their safety, animals left in vehicles will be reported.

Are camping spaces available at the fair?
Not for the general public. We have a limited number of camping sites on our grounds. These sites are available to Agricultural participants first, because they have animals to tend to. Leftover spaces go to vendors and attractions, so there are no spaces left for the general public to rent.

I would like to be a performer at your fair. How can I get hired?
Performers who wish to be hired for the next Tennessee State Fair should send information to: Tennessee State Fair, Attn: Scott Jones, PO Box 40208, Nashville, TN 37204 – Entertainment Submissions
Audio or visual samples of your work (videos, DVD's, cassettes or CD's) are helpful. Include pricing information for a ten day fair. All information is kept on file from year to year. We start booking attractions in the early spring.

Are Premium Books available this year?
Due to the rising cost of printing and mailing these books, the Tennessee State Fair has now created an electronic premium book on this website. Click on "Contests/Premiums" above and you will find PDF files of all competitions. An actual physical book will not be printed. However, if you are not able to download the PDF files on this site, you may request hard copies of certain competitions by calling 615-862-8980 or email. Be sure to specify which competitions you would like and give your full name and mailing address.  Compete
